How We Chose the Best Travel Blogs
We started from published lists of the top travel blogs and the blogs travellers recommend most often online, then checked every site against three rules:
- Real blogs only. Each one is written by a person, a couple, a family or a small team of named writers. Travel magazines, tour operators, booking sites and anonymous content farms are left out.
- Still publishing. Every blog has posted within the last two years. The Last Updated column shows the date of the most recent post, so you can see who is active right now.
- Ranked by popularity. Each blog gets a score out of 100 that blends web traffic (the Tranco top million and Cloudflare Radar), how many other sites link to it (Majestic Million and Open PageRank), its YouTube subscribers, and how many published best-of lists recommend it. Traffic counts most.
Travellers are labelled solo, couple, family or team, and the focus shows what each blog is geared to, such as budget travel, female solo travel, hiking or a single region like Southeast Asia.
