Nomadic Notes
Practical travel guides and transport notes from a long-term digital nomad.
About Nomadic Notes
Nomadic Notes is the personal travel blog of James Clark, a long-term traveller from Melbourne who has lived as a location independent entrepreneur since 2003. He began Nomadic Notes in February 2009 to chronicle his trips and has built an archive of more than 500 posts since then. The site focuses on travel guides, train travel and urban rail transit, and practical notes from destinations around Southeast Asia and beyond. Clark also writes about living a digital nomad lifestyle and runs a newsletter. Posts are illustrated with numerous on-the-ground photographs and route maps.
If you want to know how to actually get from A to B, Nomadic Notes reads like the definitive note left on a helpful traveller's table. James writes in a calm, practical voice with attention to small but crucial details - which bus stop to use, how tickets are paid, where the driver stops, and a map to prove it. The bus 02 guide is a perfect example: nuts-and-bolts directions, local landmarks, and plenty of photos. We find the site best for transport-minded travellers and anyone planning detailed Southeast Asia itineraries who values clear, photographed route guidance and measured, experience-driven reporting.
