Practical Wanderlust
A couple’s travel blog mixing responsible, budget-friendly travel with storytelling and itineraries.
About Practical Wanderlust
Practical Wanderlust is run by Lia and Jeremy, who write under the combined name Liaremy. After marrying in 2016 they quit their jobs and spent a year travelling, and began the blog to share their adventures. Since 2016 the site has grown substantially, with more than 290 posts in its sitemap, a podcast, and a small team supporting the project. The blog pairs practical, budget-minded travel advice with storytelling, offering destination guides, multi-day itineraries, packing lists and travel tips, and presents travel as a tool for education, connection and social impact.
Part practical travel manual, part off-beat couple’s memoir, Practical Wanderlust reads like a conversation with two friends who plan trips meticulously and laugh through the disasters. Their voice is candid and self-deprecating, with plenty of humor and social context woven into destination guides and itineraries, and the podcast adds an easygoing, Californian-accented layer to the material. We find it especially useful for travellers who want concrete day-by-day plans and packing checklists delivered alongside human stories and responsible travel advice. The site feels warm, informative and reliably personal, ideal for curious budget-minded travellers seeking memorable, unconventional experiences.
