Four Jandals
Adventure travel blog offering tips, guides and first-person tales to inspire trips worldwide.
About Four Jandals
Four Jandals began in 2009 when Cole set off from New Zealand on an extended overseas experience and started writing during an 18,000 km road trip across Canada and America. The site grew into a full-time project as Cole explored Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia, and today the blog lists more than 1,000 posts in its sitemap since 2011. Ownership and editorial duties have passed to Moss and Rebecca, while Four Jandals continues to publish adventure travel tips, destination guides and practical safety advice. Posts are illustrated with the authors own travel photos.
What makes Four Jandals itself is its get-your-boots-on, tell-it-like-it-was approach to adventure travel. The voice in the sample is practical, clear and full of small checklists and headings that make long reads feel breezy, which suits travellers who actually need to plan nights out or long moves abroad. We particularly enjoyed the hotel safety guide, the frank Red Light District pieces, and the nuts-and-bolts visa roundups, these feel like usable, earned advice rather than abstract inspiration. The site updates at a steady, not frantic pace, with about one new post a month and a deep archive to browse.
