About World Travel Family
World Travel Family is run by Alyson and her family, who turned full-time travel with children into a lifestyle and this website. They began travelling and worldschooling around 2012 and spent six plus years on the road; the site now documents more than a decade of trips and reflections. The project has grown into a large resource with over 900 posts and more than 900 pages in its sitemap, weekly publishing and roughly four posts a month. Content focuses on travelling with kids, long-term travel, worldschooling, destination guides, itineraries, gear and health. Posts use the authors own photos and some pages include videos.
Alyson writes like a frank, well-travelled friend who keeps a very full travel notebook. Long, candid posts such as the 2,600-word look at the negatives of long-term travel sit alongside practical city guides and family itineraries, so you get both reflection and usable planning advice. The site is strongest for parents plotting long-term trips, gap years or worldschooling, with hands-on tips about flights, insurance, packing and teen travel, plus destination pages for Vietnam, Australia and Southeast Asia. It is an active site too, publishing weekly and carrying a deep archive you can easily dive into.
