About Earth Trekkers
Earth Trekkers is a family-run travel blog created and written by Tim, Julie, Tyler, and Kara. The site grew out of a 13-month around-the-world trip and documents trips to dozens of countries; the family now reports having visited 74 countries across six continents. Since 2014 the site has expanded into a large resource with more than 1,100 posts and extensive destination content. Earth Trekkers publishes practical travel advice, sample itineraries, national park and hiking guides, and planning tools, and its long guides are illustrated with the authors own photography and many on-the-ground photos.
Long, photo-packed, family-tested itineraries are Earth Trekkers' signature. The voice is practical and matter-of-fact, written by people who clearly hike the routes and sleep in the same hotels they recommend, Tyler’s byline and a nearly 4,000 word Crater Lake hike guide show the depth you get. Reading the site feels like following a careful trip plan written by experienced travelers who also add personal color, such as which peaks they loved or which hikes were cut short by weather. The site is updated every few weeks, and you will find standout national park guides, multi-day itineraries, and thorough hiking round-ups with plenty of original photos and route advice.
