How to Get to Patong
Patong is Phuket's main beach and nightlife district and is reached via Phuket International Airport with a road transfer. Shared airport minivans are the budget standard; private taxis and hotel transfers are faster and more comfortable.
Phuket International Airport (HKT): The main gateway for Patong and the rest of Phuket. Airport-to-Patong transfers take about 45-60 minutes by road depending on traffic. Shared minivans from the airport commonly charge around 150-200 THB per person; metered taxis cost more (roughly 700-1,000 THB depending on time of day and luggage).
Bangkok & other hubs: Many visitors fly into Bangkok and take a domestic flight to Phuket (HKT) then a road transfer to Patong as above.
Bus / Minivan: Long-distance buses and minivans connect Phuket with southern Thai cities; from Phuket Town or the airport, shuttle buses and minivans run to Patong in around 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.
Local transfer services: Many hotels and travel desks sell shared transfers and private taxis-book in advance in high season for guaranteed arrival times.
How to Get Around Patong #
Patong is very walkable along the beach and central streets, but motorbike taxis, tuk‑tuks and local taxis are handy for longer trips.
