About Celuk#
Celuk is a traditional handicrafts village in central Bali, sitting just outside Sukawati and only a short drive from Denpasar on the well-travelled route up to Ubud. It has long been one of the island’s favourite day-trip stops, drawing visitors who come to watch the craftsmen at work and pick up a piece of jewellery or a carving to take home.
While the village produces several kinds of handicraft, Celuk is best known for its goldsmiths and silversmiths. Many of the workshops are open to visitors, and one of the real pleasures here is that jewellery can be made to order: you can bring your own design straight to the craftsmen and walk away with a completely unique piece.
