Caspian Coast (Türkmenbaşy & Awaza)

June moves toward summer warmth; sea temperatures become tolerable for brief swims but persistent breezes mean it rarely feels muggy. Awaza fills with local holidaymakers on weekends and coastal roads are busier. Early-arriving heatwaves from the interior can make afternoons hot - pack light layers and plan outdoor sightseeing for morning or late afternoon.

Kopet Dag Foothills & Ashgabat

June feels the first push of summer heat, especially on sun-exposed slopes; Ashgabat becomes hot in daylight but the foothills still offer relief in shaded gullies. Afternoon winds pick up at times, dropping dust into valley towns. Plan outdoor activities for morning or late afternoon and carry water-the midday sun can be surprisingly fierce.

Central Karakum Desert & Darvaza (Gas Crater)

June is one of the hottest months in the Karakum; long, cloudless days push afternoon heat to uncomfortable levels and shaded spots are rare. Many sightseers concentrate on dawn and dusk at Darvaza to avoid the worst sun, and day trips are best planned with local drivers who know the safest routes.
