Prachinburi Province Travel Guide
Prachin Buri is a small province located in central Thailand that shares its provincial borders with Nakhon Ratchasima, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao and Nakhon Nayok provinces. Despite its relatively small size, the province is a popular tourist destination, particularly with those wanting to take trekking trips in the province’s highland plateaus and mountains.
One of the major draws of the province is the famous Khao Yai National Park, which lies mainly in the province of Nahon Ratchasima, but also in Prachin province. Attractions of the park include its evergreen forests, 320 species of plants, 67 species of animals and the Heo Suwat waterfall, made famous by its feature in the movie The Beach. Also a highlight of the province is the Tab Larn National Park.
While the capital city and provincial districts don’t keep tourists for very long, the national park areas provide numerous trekking services and an increasing array of national park accommodation options. There are regular bus and train services within the province and direct daily services to Bangkok.
