Ao Nang City
Beach resort town in Krabi, Thailand
Ao Nang works as Krabi’s gateway: long‑tail boats ferry climbers and swimmers to Railay’s limestone cliffs, while dive shops and seafood stalls line the beachfront. Daytrips head to Phi Phi and mangrove channels.
Why Visit Ao Nang?#
Set on Krabi’s sun-drenched coast, Ao Nang draws travelers with dramatic limestone cliffs, island-hopping to Railay Beach and easy boat trips to the Phi Phi Islands. The town is a practical base for rock climbing on sheer karsts and for sampling southern Thai seafood along the beachfront. Low-key nightlife and longtail-boat excursions give a mix of adventure and laid-back island life that contrasts with larger Thai beach resorts.
