Ton Sai Beach Beach

Ton Sai Beach is a shoreline on Phi Phi Don island in the Andaman Sea, part of southern Thailand’s popular island destinations. It lies adjacent to the island’s main settlement and pier and functions as a hub for boat transfers and local services.

The beach area is a mix of sand, shallow water and a working shoreline where longtail boats land; it is also next to the village that provides accommodation, restaurants and dive and tour operators. Snorkeling, short boat trips to nearby bays, and beachside dining are common activities, with the beach serving as a base for exploring the Phi Phi archipelago.

Historically the location developed from a small fishing settlement into a tourism centre during the late 20th century as the Phi Phi islands grew in popularity. Facilities remain concentrated close to the pier and village rather than spread along a long resort coastline.

Ton Sai Beach sits on the western side of Phi Phi Don and faces the Andaman Sea; the island is routinely accessed by boat services from Phuket, Krabi and nearby islands.

• Access: Only reachable by boat from the mainland or nearby islands, with regular longtail-boat services operating from Phi Phi Don’s main piers.

Ton Sai is typically reached by longtail boat from Ao Nang or Railay West (short rides when weather permits). Boats depart from Ao Nang’s piers-check current schedules and sea conditions; during low season some services may be reduced.

• Travel early in the season to avoid the busiest crowds and secure better accommodation in nearby Ao Nang or Krabi.
• Boat rides to Ton Sai are often accessed from Ao Nang or Railay West-check schedules and weather conditions before departing.
• Expect a lively backpacker atmosphere with basic services; bring cash as some small vendors do not accept cards.
