Saladan (Koh Lanta) is reached by road-plus-ferry from Krabi Airport or by minivan transfers from surrounding coastal towns. Shared minivans are the common budget option; private transfers and boats are available for more comfort or flexibility.
Krabi International Airport (KBV): Krabi is the main airport serving Koh Lanta and Saladan. From Krabi Airport you can take a shared minivan or private transfer to Saladan (the main town on Koh Lanta); journey time including the short ferry/boarded crossing is approximately 2-3 hours. Train: There is no direct train service to Koh Lanta; the nearest railheads are on the mainland (e.g., Surat Thani) and require onward bus/van transfers to Krabi and then ferry to Saladan.
Bus / Minivan: Shared minivans and private transfers run from Krabi town, Ao Nang and Phuket to Saladan. Minivans typically take 2-3 hours from Krabi (including the short vehicle ferry) and cost around 300-450 THB per person; boats and long-tail transfers are options from nearby islands and beaches in high season.
