How to Get to Pučišća#
Pučišća is on the island of Brač and is normally reached via Split - fly or bus to Split, then take the ferry to Supetar and a short bus or taxi to Pučišća. Ferries are the key link to the island.
Split (SPU): Split Airport is the main gateway for Pučišća on Brač island. From Split Airport you can take a shuttle or taxi to Split harbour (roughly 25-35 minutes). From Split harbour, ferries to Supetar (Brač) take about 50 minutes on the car ferry (Jadrolinija) or faster on some catamarans; foot-passenger ferry fares are typically in the €5-€12 range depending on route and season. From Supetar a local bus or taxi connects to Pučišća (about 30-45 minutes by road).
Bol / Brač (no regular airport): Brač has seasonal or limited air links into Bol; most travellers use Split and the regular ferry services to reach Pučišća.
Train: There is no rail service to the island - the mainland rail network ends in Split and you continue by ferry.
Bus: Intercity buses reach Split from across Croatia; from Split’s bus station it’s a short transfer to the ferry port. After the Split→Supetar ferry, local Brač buses run Supetar→Pučišća (journey ~30-45 minutes) and are the budget choice for island transfers.
How to Get Around Pučišća#
Get to Pučišća via Split → ferry to Supetar → local bus or taxi. Ferries are frequent in summer, and renting a car (or taking a taxi) helps if you want to explore the whole island.
- Ferry (Split ↔ Supetar) (€5-€12) - Jadrolinija and other operators run ferries between Split and Supetar. The car ferry is about 50 minutes; catamarans can be faster. Foot-passenger fares are modest (roughly €5-€12) and schedules are frequent in summer.
- Local bus (Brač) (€2-€4) - After arriving in Supetar take a local bus to Pučišća (30-45 minutes). Buses are inexpensive and timed to meet many ferry arrivals, though services reduce outside peak season.
- Taxi (€20-€40) - Taxis on Brač are convenient for direct transfers from Supetar to Pučišća, especially with luggage or off-schedule ferry arrivals. Expect higher fares than the bus but quick door-to-door service.
- Car rental (€30-€60/day) - Renting a car on the mainland and taking the car ferry to Brač or hiring on the island gives maximum freedom to reach coves and quarries around Pučišća. Car ferries carry vehicles but book ahead in high season.
- Walking - Pučišća’s historic centre and stone-working sites are compact and best explored on foot. Walking between local beaches and the village is easy though some routes include uphill sections.
