How to Get to Omiš#
Omiš is best reached via Split - fly into Split Airport (SPU) then continue by bus or taxi. There’s no direct rail link to Omiš, so bus connections from Split are the standard option.
Split Airport (SPU): Split is the closest major airport for Omiš. From SPU take the airport bus to Split city centre (about 30 minutes; fare ≈HRK 40/€5), then catch a local bus from Split’s main bus station to Omiš (journey roughly 25-45 minutes, fares around HRK 25-40/€3-5). Taxis or private transfers from SPU to Omiš take about 30-40 minutes and cost substantially more.
Dubrovnik Airport (DBV): Dubrovnik is farther; travel time to Omiš is long (around 2.5-3.5 hours by road) and usually involves a long coastal bus or private transfer, so it’s less convenient unless you’re continuing along the Dalmatian coast.
Train: There is no direct train service to Omiš; the closest railhead is Split. From Split’s train station you continue by bus to Omiš.
Bus: Buses from Split main bus station to Omiš run frequently and take about 25-45 minutes depending on traffic; companies include local carriers and Arriva. Tickets are cheap and buses serve several stops in town and nearby beaches.

- Airport transfer & shuttle (Airport bus ≈HRK 40; private transfer ≈€40-80) - Airport buses to Split town are frequent; from Split you can catch a shuttle or local bus to Omiš. Private transfers and shared shuttles are available and convenient if you have lots of luggage or arrive late.
- Taxi (€30-80 depending on origin) - Taxis are the quickest door-to-door option from Split airport or the ferry pier, but they’re significantly more expensive than buses. Agree a price or ensure the meter is used for transfers to Omiš.
- Car hire (€30-70/day) - A hire car is ideal for exploring the Makarska Riviera and hinterland; parking in Omiš can be limited in peak season, and summer traffic can slow coastal drives. A smaller car makes parking and narrow coastal roads easier to manage.
