How to Get to Iriga
Iriga is normally reached by road from regional airports in Naga or Legazpi; long-distance buses from Manila are available but lengthy. There is no dependable passenger rail to Iriga, so buses and vans are the mainstay.
Naga Airport (WNP): Naga (Bicol) airport in Pili is the closest airport to Iriga; flights from Manila take about 1 hour, and road transfer from Naga to Iriga is typically 45-75 minutes by bus or taxi. Local van/bus fares from Naga to Iriga are usually around PHP 80-200.
Legazpi Airport (LGP): Legazpi is another regional option (Albay); travel from Legazpi to Iriga by bus takes about 1.5-2.5 hours depending on route and traffic, with fares typically in the PHP 100-250 range.
Train: There is no regular rail service to Iriga - rail on Luzon’s south main line is not in regular passenger service for this region.
Bus: Buses and vans from Naga, Legazpi and Manila connect to Iriga City (Iriga City bus terminal). From Naga the trip is under 1-1.5 hours; from Manila expect a long coach ride (8-10+ hours) unless you fly to Naga/Legazpi first. Fares vary by operator and class (roughly PHP 100-600 for common routes).
How to Get Around Iriga #
Iriga’s downtown is small enough to explore on foot for short trips. Tricycles and jeepneys provide cheap, frequent local transport; buses connect Iriga to other towns in the Bicol region. Short tricycle rides cost only a few pesos; always confirm the fare before departing. Roads can be narrow in older districts, so allow extra time for travel.
