Druskininkai is reached most easily by bus from Vilnius or Kaunas; there is no major commercial airport in the town itself. Use Vilnius Airport if flying in, then transfer to an intercity bus.

By Air

Vilnius Airport (VNO): The nearest major airport to Druskininkai. From VNO take bus 88 or an airport shuttle to Vilnius central bus station (about €1.50, ~25-35 minutes), then an intercity bus to Druskininkai (see card 2). A taxi from VNO to Vilnius centre costs about €12-20 (20-30 minutes).

Kaunas Airport (KUN): Useful for some low-cost flights; shuttles/minibuses connect KUN with Kaunas city centre in ~20-30 minutes for roughly €3-5. From Kaunas you can catch an intercity bus to Druskininkai - total travel time typically 1.5-2 hours including transfers.

By Train & Bus

Train: Lietuvos geležinkeliai operates trains on several routes around southern Lithuania to Kaunas and Vilnius; until recently rail direct links to Druskininkai were limited, so trains are most useful to reach Vilnius or Kaunas as hubs.

Bus: Intercity buses run from Vilnius Bus Station and Kaunas to Druskininkai (operators include Kautra and other regional carriers). Typical fares from Vilnius are around €6-8 one-way and the journey takes about 1.5-2 hours; from Kaunas fares are slightly lower and the trip about 1-1.5 hours.
