How to Get to Veisiejai#
Veisiejai is a small town in southern Lithuania (Alytus County); the nearest international airports are Vilnius (VNO) and Kaunas (KUN). Most travellers arrive by bus from Alytus or neighboring towns and then transfer to local buses or taxis for the last leg.
Vilnius International Airport (VNO): Vilnius is the major international gateway for southern Lithuania. From Vilnius the bus or train to Alytus takes about 1.5-2.5 hours (fares typically €5-€12), and from Alytus you’ll travel by local bus or taxi to Veisiejai.
Kaunas Airport (KUN): Kaunas also offers flights and good bus links to southern Lithuania. Intercity buses from Kaunas to Druskininkai/Alytus take around 1.5-2.5 hours; from those towns local buses or taxis complete the trip to Veisiejai.
Train: Lithuania’s rail network is limited for many rural destinations; Alytus has a rail connection but services are infrequent. Trains are generally used for longer routes between major cities rather than village access.
