How to Get to Corazón
Corazón (Guayama barrio-pueblo) is typically reached via Mercedita Airport (PSE) or by road from SJU; car rental or private transfers are the most practical ways to arrive and move around the south coast. Public buses are available but less convenient.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): Guayama and Corazón on the south coast are commonly reached from SJU by road. The drive from SJU to Guayama varies with traffic but generally takes about 1-1.5 hours; taxi or rideshare fares for that distance commonly run USD 70-140. Renting a car at SJU or Ponce (PSE) is often more economical for south-coast travel.
Mercedita Airport, Ponce (PSE): Ponce’s Mercedita Airport is a closer alternative for many southern destinations; taxis from PSE to Guayama tend to be shorter and less costly (around USD 25-45 and roughly 25-45 minutes). Car rental options at PSE are useful for exploring the southern municipalities including Guayama and its barrios.
Train: Puerto Rico has no intercity passenger rail network-Tren Urbano is limited to San Juan.
