How to Get to Voi

Voi is a transport hub in southeastern Kenya with road and rail links to Mombasa and Nairobi. For most visitors the easiest approach is by bus or by rail from Mombasa/Nairobi; local taxis and matatus handle short trips.

By Air

Moi International Airport, Mombasa (MBA): Voi is most commonly reached by road from Mombasa (about 160-200 km) or by rail from Mombasa/Nairobi. From Mombasa airport the drive to Voi typically takes 2-3 hours by private car or bus.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi (NBO): Nairobi is another air gateway; road travel from Nairobi to Voi is roughly 4-6 hours depending on route and traffic, or you can use the rail link to Mombasa that stops at Voi on some services.

By Train & Bus

Train: Voi is served by the historical metre-gauge rail network and is a stop on some intercity services along the Mombasa-Nairobi corridor. Schedules vary; check Kenya Railways for current stops and times.
