How to Get to Wundanyi#
Wundanyi is a town in Kenya’s Taita-Taveta County best reached by road; Nairobi and Mombasa are the nearest major transport hubs. Overland travel by matatu, coach or private transfer is the practical option for most visitors.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi (NBO): Nairobi is the main international gateway for visitors to Wundanyi and Taita-Taveta County. Overland from Nairobi the drive to Wundanyi is long (commonly 5-7+ hours) and often done by road rather than air.
Local airstrips / charter: Small airstrips in the region are occasionally used for charter flights to game lodges, but there are no regular scheduled commercial flights to Wundanyi itself; most visitors arrive by road from Mombasa or Nairobi.
Train: Kenya’s standard passenger rail services do not serve Wundanyi.
Bus / Matatu: Matatus and intercounty buses run between Mombasa, Voi, Taveta and towns in Taita-Taveta including Wundanyi.
