Location Situated on the western side of the Railay peninsula in Krabi province, the beach is reached by a short longtail-boat ride from Ao Nang or Krabi Town. The surrounding landscape is limestone karst rising directly from the shoreline, with nearby bays and beaches accessible on foot or by boat.

How to Get to Hat Rai Leh West #

Hat Rai Leh West (Railay West) is accessible only by boat. Regular longtail boats leave from Ao Nang Beach and Nopparat Thara pier (Krabi) - the ride from Ao Nang takes about 10-15 minutes, from Krabi Town/Tha Len area a bit longer depending on sea conditions. Once you land at Railay the walk to Railay West beach is a short shoreline path of around 5-10 minutes.

  • Railay (Hat Rai Leh) is reachable only by boat from Ao Nang or Krabi - ask the longtail driver to drop you at Railay West; arriving on the earliest morning boats gets you quieter beaches and clearer water for swimming before day‑trip crowds arrive.
  • To avoid the busiest stretch along the central west beach at sunset, walk the short inland path to Railay East or continue along the shoreline to small adjoining coves - these spots are usually much quieter and better for snorkelling.
