Hat Rai Leh East

Beach East Railay Beach with limestone cliffs and clear water

East Railay Beach in Krabi, accessible only by longtail boat and flanked by limestone cliffs; visitors rock‑climb, swim and use it to transfer to Railay’s viewpoints.

Hat Rai Leh East is the eastern landing beach on the Railay peninsula in Krabi province, Thailand. It functions primarily as a boat landing and arrival point, with shallow waters and mooring for longtail boats that serve the peninsula.

The beach area links on foot to the rest of Railay’s beaches and trails that lead to viewpoints, caves, and climbing sectors. Rock-climbing routes and guide services are concentrated on nearby limestone cliffs that rise directly from the peninsula.

Railay developed as an access-only-by-boat destination once roads were established elsewhere in Krabi; tourism and climbing businesses expanded around the peninsula’s beaches and trails. The eastern shore has remained the primary arrival zone for visitors.

Hat Rai Leh East sits on the east side of the narrow Railay peninsula, accessible only by boat from Ao Nang and nearby piers, and faces a sheltered channel rather than open sea.

  • Boat access and climbing: Serves as the main landing point for longtail boats to the Railay peninsula and is a common starting point for local rock-climbing routes and short coastal trails.
