Mount Barren is in the subantarctic island chain south of the Atlantic; access is by expedition vessel from ports such as Stanley (Falkland Islands) or Ushuaia (Argentina). Landings are weather-dependent and usually arranged through licensed polar cruise operators; independent attempts to reach these shores are strongly discouraged.
