Miðvágur is on Vágar island and is served directly from Vágar Airport (FAE) - the village is only a few kilometres from the terminal. There are no trains; short taxi rides or the local bus network link the airport to the village and to the rest of the island.

Miðvágur village sits on Vágar island roughly 3-5 km from the terminal; a taxi from the airport takes about 6-10 minutes and local taxi fares are modest (short trips). There is also a scheduled local bus connecting the airport with villages on Vágar and with the ferry/road network to the rest of the Faroes-check the current Strandfaraskip Landsins / local provider timetables on arrival.

(No other mainland airports): There are no alternate international airports closer; all international flights to the Faroes arrive at Vágar.
