Sørvágsvatn (also called Leitisvatn) is a freshwater lake on the island of Vágar in the Faroe Islands and is the archipelago’s largest natural lake.
The lake and its surrounding farmland have been used by local communities for grazing and freshwater supply for centuries; the modern popularity of the viewpoint grew with tourism in recent decades.
