How to Get to Looc
Looc (Romblon) is reached by a combination of short domestic flights to Tugdan (TBH) or by boat from larger Philippine islands. Expect at least one ferry or road leg after flying in; schedules can change, so confirm locally.
Tugdan Airport (TBH): Tugdan (Alcantara, Tablas Island) is the closest scheduled airport for Romblon province with flights from Manila and Cebu. From Tugdan you reach Looc by shared van or jeepney to Odiongan/Looc area (typical journey 30-60 minutes); expect local fares in the ~PHP 50-200 range depending on vehicle and luggage.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL): If you fly internationally you will arrive at Manila. Domestic flights to Tugdan (TBH) or to nearby Caticlan/Kalibo are common; from Manila allow 1-2 hours for the domestic flight plus onward overland/ferry time to Looc (see ferries and land link options). Airport-to-city transfers in Manila vary: airport bus or taxi to domestic terminals ~PHP 100-500 and 30-60 minutes.
Bus/Van/Jeepney: There are regular local vans and jeepneys linking Tugdan/Tablas towns and ferry ports (Odiongan/Looc) to nearby islands. Typical land legs from Tugdan to Looc take 30-60 minutes; fares commonly PHP 50-200.
Ferry: Ferries and RORO boats connect Tablas Island with Romblon and Sibuyan islands; schedules vary by season and operator. Crossing times depend on route (30 minutes to several hours) - check local ferry operators for up-to-date timetables and fares before travel.
How to Get Around Looc #
Looc is compact and easy to explore on foot around the poblacion. Expect short walks between the municipal hall, market and waterfront. For trips beyond town you’ll rely on motor tricycle (trike) rides and small pump boats for nearby islands. Trike fares are short and inexpensive; negotiate fares for longer rural runs.
