How to Get to Lefkoniko#
Lefkoniko (Geçitkale) is best reached by air into Northern Cyprus (Ercan) or via the Republic of Cyprus (Larnaca) followed by a road transfer. There is no rail service; most onward travel is by taxi, private transfer, rental car or shared minibus.
Ercan International Airport (ECN): The main airport serving Northern Cyprus (domestic and many flights via Turkey). From Ercan to Lefkoniko/Geçitkale you can take a taxi or arrange a private transfer; travel time is about 35-50 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis are the most practical door-to-door option; prebooked transfers are recommended when arriving late.
Larnaca International Airport (LCA): The Republic of Cyprus’s main international gateway on the south coast. If you cross to the north you’ll need to use a car or bus to a crossing point and continue by road; total travel time to Lefkoniko is typically 75-120 minutes including checkpoint time. Buses and car rentals are available at Larnaca; check crossing rules and opening hours before planning.
Train: There is no rail service to Lefkoniko (the north of Cyprus has no active passenger rail network). The nearest rail-related links are not applicable - travel is by road.
