How to Get to Herlev
Herlev is a Copenhagen suburb easily reached from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) via train to København H and a short S-train ride to Herlev station. Copenhagen's integrated public-transport network (trains, S-trains, buses) makes onward travel straightforward.
Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup (CPH): Copenhagen Airport is the main international airport for Herlev and greater Copenhagen. From CPH take the train to København H (central station) in about 13 minutes (fare ~DKK 36-50 depending on ticket type), then transfer to an S-train toward Herlev (Herlev station) - total travel time to Herlev is around 25-35 minutes.
Malmö Airport (MMX) / other regional airports: Malmö or other regional airports can be used by travellers coming via Sweden, but Copenhagen Airport remains the most practical international gateway for Herlev using Öresund connections (if arriving via flight+train combinations).
Train: Copenhagen Airport is directly connected to Copenhagen Central (København H) by frequent regional trains (13 minutes). From København H take the S-train (lines towards Frederikssund/whatever line serves Herlev) to Herlev station - the S-train journey is about 10-15 minutes. Single public-transport fares in the Copenhagen zones system commonly cost DKK 24-36 for short trips depending on zones.
Bus: Local buses serve Herlev neighbourhoods and provide connections where S-train doesn’t. Buses are frequent and integrated into the same ticketing/zoning system as trains.
How to Get Around Herlev #
Herlev sits on the edge of Copenhagen’s urban area and is well connected by public transport - regular buses and the S-train link the town with central Copenhagen. Cycling is also popular; there are good bike lanes and short distances make two wheels convenient.
Taxis and local buses cover inner-town travel; fares are typical for the Copenhagen region. If you plan day trips into the city, the combined public-transport network is efficient and cost-effective.
