How to Get to Wat Tham Seua #

Wat Tham Seua (Tiger Cave Temple) is near Krabi town in Krabi province. It’s reached easily by road from Krabi Town - a taxi, local songthaew or rented motorbike will get you there in roughly 10-20 minutes; there is parking at the temple and only a short walk from the parking area up to the temple compound. Note that visiting the summit requires climbing a long flight of steps from the temple grounds.

Tips for Visiting Wat Tham Seua #

  • Climb early (before 8:00) or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat; the summit views are best at cooler times and the ascent is much more comfortable outside peak sun hours.
  • Use the main base parking/entrance and follow the marked stairway - the upper viewpoint and large Buddha are the main attractions, but many visitors don't explore the lower caves and small shrines near the base.
  • Keep a close eye on belongings around the temple grounds: macaques are common and known to snatch food, sunglasses and loose items from visitors, which is often overlooked.
