How to Get to Võru
Võru is accessed mainly by road - long‑distance buses link it to Tallinn and Tartu, while the nearest passenger rail hubs are Tartu and Valga. For air travel use Tallinn Airport for international flights or Tartu Airport for limited regional services, then continue by bus or car to Võru.
Tallinn Airport (TLL): Tallinn is the main international gateway; from Tallinn you can take an intercity bus to Võru (journeys typically take about 4.5-5 hours). Typical one-way fares range €7-15 depending on operator and how far in advance you book.
Tartu Airport (TAY): Tartu is the nearest small airport with limited scheduled flights. From Tartu bus station regular regional buses run to Võru in about 1-1.5 hours; fares are typically around €3-5.
Train: Võru does not have a passenger rail station. The nearest main rail hubs are Tartu and Valga (served by Elron regional trains). Trains to Tartu or Valga are useful if you want to link into the national rail network; journey times to Tartu depend on origin (e.g. Tallinn-Tartu ~2-2.5 hours) and fares on Elron are typically a few euros for regional legs.
