How to Get to Victoria, Seychelles

Victoria is on Mahé island and most international travellers arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ). From SEZ you can take a taxi, the local bus network, or hire a car to reach Victoria and explore the island.

By Air

Seychelles International Airport (SEZ): The only international airport serving the Seychelles, located on Mahé island about 10-15 km south of Victoria. Taxis from the airport to Victoria take about 15-20 minutes; expect roughly SCR 200-350 depending on destination and time of day. Airport car hire desks are available.

Domestic inter-island flights / helicopters: For outer islands there are inter-island flights (Air Seychelles has offered domestic/charter services historically) and helicopter transfers; Victoria is on Mahé, so no domestic flight is needed to reach the city itself.

By Train & Bus

Train: There are no train services in the Seychelles.

Bus / Public transport: Victoria is well served by the public bus network on Mahé. Buses are frequent, cheap and run to major beaches and towns (including Beau Vallon). Expect fares in the low SCR range and short travel times within Mahé; buses are the best value way to get around if you’re flexible.

How to Get Around Victoria, Seychelles #

Victoria is compact and highly walkable-many attractions, shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the waterfront. Keep sunscreen and comfortable shoes for exploring on foot. Public buses run across Mahé and connect Victoria with outer districts; they’re inexpensive and frequent compared with regional standards. Taxis are widely available but cost more-consider the bus for short, budget trips.
