Phayao Travel Guide
City City in Thailand known for its lakes
Lake Kwan Phayao anchors the town, ringed by teak-clad temples like Wat Si Khom Kham and slow-food markets. Visitors come for lake boats, cycling beside rice paddies, northern Thai khao soi and mountain mist at dawn.
Why Visit Phayao? #
Set on the banks of Kwan Phayao, this quietly scenic northern Thai town draws travelers seeking relaxed lakeside life, Lanna culture and mountain air. Temple visits to Wat Si Khom Kham reveal a colossal Buddha and lacquered murals, while the morning markets and riverside cafés spotlight local kai yang and khao soi.
