Sokha Beach is a long stretch of powdery white sand and shallow, gentle water that is well suited to swimming. Most of the shoreline is occupied by the Sokha Beach Resort, Cambodia’s first modern five-star beach hotel, but there is still plenty here for day visitors who are not staying at the hotel.

At the southeast end, near the rocky coastal path that leads around to Serendipity and Ochheuteal Beach, a small public beach park offers a sliver of sand that is a pleasant place to sunbathe and an adequate spot to swim. The better swimming is at the northwest end within the resort grounds, where the beach is open to the public and non-guests can use the toilets and showers and hire a beach chair for a dollar. Bring a picnic or eat at the resort’s outdoor seafood restaurant, Lemongrass; either way, both ends are tree-lined stretches of soft, silvery-white sand worth visiting whether or not you are a hotel guest.

Sokha Beach Resort is on Sokha Beach in Sihanoukville. From the Sihanoukville ferry pier or Serendipity Beach area it’s a short taxi ride (10-20 minutes depending on traffic). The resort provides transfer arrangements; local tuk-tuks and taxis serve the main town and nearby beaches.
