Sen Monorom Waterfall Travel Guide

Located in Mondulkiri Province, Sen Monorom Waterfall is much closer to Sen Monorom town than Bou Sra Waterfall. It’s a quick and easy side trip from guesthouses in the town center.

The waterfall itself is picturesque and well worth visiting. The only problem is that facilities are nonexistent and the surrounding area isn’t particularly inviting. A hydroelectric plant up the river can be a little disturbing to anyone looking for a quiet retreat into nature.

There are three different levels to the waterfall, but the only one worth visiting is the second stage where the water plummets more than 20 feet. This is a popular meeting place for locals, as it’s only three miles from Sen Monorom town center. The falls are busiest around noon on the weekends, when people come out for picnics.

There’s a trail leading to the waterfall from Sen Monorom town. It sees regular traffic and is easy to follow because of its bright red soil. Even so, signposts on the trail are inconsistent, and it is possible to lose track of where you are going. It is a good idea to hire a guide, which can be cheaply done in the town center.
