Doha & the Eastern Coast (The Corniche, The Pearl, Katara)

Spring warmth starts to creep in, pushing daytime highs toward the high 20s while mornings remain pleasant and beach mornings are still excellent. Occasional northwesterly shamal gusts will stir up dust on exposed promenades and can make visibility hazy - carry sunglasses and a light face covering for windy mornings. This is a good time for early-season sea trips and the Corniche sees more joggers; midday sun grows stronger so sunscreen is essential.

Northern Coast & Al Khor (Al Khor, Ras Rakan, Al Thakhira)

Spring warmth makes the northern beaches pleasant by midday, with temperatures often in the mid-to-high 20s and long, sunny afternoons around Al Khor Corniche. Migratory birds begin to thin out, but the mangroves still offer calm paddling opportunities before the full summer heat arrives. Expect occasional shamal gusts that whip sand along exposed strands; mid-mornings and late afternoons are the best times for coastal walks.

Western Coast & Dukhan Dunes (Dukhan, Ras Abrouq/Buq, Zekreet)

Spring warmth accelerates inland: midday highs climb toward the high 20s and Zekreet’s sculpted ridges heat quickly under the sun. The shamal begins to pick up at times, blowing sand across tracks to Ras Abrouq and causing gritty conditions for light vehicles; a 4x4 is advisable for dune access. Early mornings and late afternoons remain the best windows for photography and rock-climbing excursions.

Southern Coast, Mesaieed & Khor Al Adaid (Al Wakrah, Mesaieed, Sealine)

Spring sun warms the southern coast into the mid-to-high 20s and the Inland Sea beaches start to attract more swimmers and families. Shamal gusts occur occasionally and can make sandbars shift, so choose experienced 4x4 guides for dune runs; mornings and late afternoons are ideal. Roadside cafés in Al Wakrah fill up as locals enjoy the improving days, and kayak trips in calmer lagoons are pleasant.

Central Interior & Sand Dunes (Sealine-Inland Desert, central plateau)

Spring daytime warmth increases markedly and the desert’s daytime highs often reach mid-to-high 20s, while mornings remain pleasantly cool for long drives and hikes. Shamal winds begin to pick up - they can sweep fine sand across tracks and make navigation harder, so choose guides who know the region well. Early-season desert flowers occasionally appear after winter rains, rewarding those who travel before the heat peaks.
