Urban outdoor activities become limited to cooler hours, so plan museum visits and markets for early day or after sunset.

Northern Coast & Al Khor (Al Khor, Ras Rakan, Al Thakhira)

By late spring the sun is stronger and daytime highs commonly touch 30°C; coastal humidity remains lower here than in Doha but wind-driven dust can make visibility variable. Ras Rakan and the adjacent shallows can become choppy during shamal episodes so boat operators sometimes curtail tours. Plan shoreline activities for early morning, and pack sun protection as shade is limited along exposed northern beaches.

Western Coast & Dukhan Dunes (Dukhan, Ras Abrouq/Buq, Zekreet)

Pre-summer conditions make the western dunes hot by midday, with temperatures often near 30-34°C and windier conditions that can whip sand on exposed routes. Camping becomes less comfortable in exposed dune valleys, so most operators schedule desert trips for overnight stays in more sheltered camps. Travelers should expect abrasive windblown sand on roads and pack protective clothing and goggles for any off-road driving.

Southern Coast, Mesaieed & Khor Al Adaid (Al Wakrah, Mesaieed, Sealine)

Pre-summer heats up quickly: by now daytime temps often reach 30-34°C and the sand becomes hot underfoot, but coastal breezes temper the feel slightly compared with inland dunes. Khor Al Adaid remains a draw for evening safaris, though daytime exposure is harsh; bring sun protection and plan desert drives for early morning.
