How to Get to Psevdas#
Psevdas is easiest reached via Larnaca International Airport (LCA); Paphos Airport (PFO) is a secondary option. There are no trains on the island, so travel onward is by bus or taxi from the airports and Larnaca bus station.
Larnaca International Airport (LCA): Larnaca Airport is the closest international airport to Psevdas. From LCA you can take the public bus to Larnaca city centre (single fare about €2; journey 15-25 minutes) and then a local taxi or short bus to Psevdas (another 10-20 minutes). A taxi direct from LCA to Psevdas takes ~15-25 minutes and typically costs around €12-20.
Paphos International Airport (PFO): Paphos is farther west and used mainly if you fly into PFO. Intercity buses connect Paphos and Larnaca (one-way fares roughly €6-10; travel time ~1-1.5 hours) - from Larnaca you then continue to Psevdas by local taxi or bus (another 20-30 minutes). A direct taxi from PFO to Psevdas is significantly longer and more expensive (often €70+).
Train: Cyprus has no national passenger rail network; there are no train stations serving Psevdas.
Bus: Intercity and local buses are the main public option. From Larnaca Bus Station you can catch local routes or shared taxis (service buses/fregues) toward villages near Psevdas - single local fares are typically a few euros (€1.5-3) and journeys to Psevdas from central Larnaca take about 20-30 minutes. Intercity buses to/from other cities (e.g., Paphos) stop at Larnaca where you change for local services.
How to Get Around Psevdas#
Psevdas has no rail service; the practical ways to get around are by car, taxi or local bus. If you want convenience and flexibility, rent a car; for short trips and one-offs, local buses and taxis are fine.
- Taxi (€12-30) - Taxis are the fastest and most convenient way to reach Psevdas from Larnaca and surrounding towns. Expect meter fares within the Larnaca area in the low tens of euros; drivers will also quote fixed rates for airport-to-village trips. Pre-booking or asking your hotel for a recommended driver helps avoid overcharging.
- Intercity bus (€3-10) - Intercity buses connect the main cities (Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos). To reach Psevdas you typically change at Larnaca Bus Station and take a local service or taxi. Buses are inexpensive but can be slow and run on fixed schedules - check the Cyprus public transport site for timetables.
- Local bus / shared taxi (€1.5-3) - Local buses and shared minibuses operate between villages and town centres; these are the cheapest option for short hops. They run less frequently outside peak hours, so plan ahead on weekends and evenings.
- Car hire (€30-70/day) - Hiring a car at Larnaca or Paphos airport gives the most flexibility for exploring the Larnaca District and nearby villages. Roads are good and parking in small villages is generally easy. Fuel and insurance add to cost, and a GPS or offline map helps on rural roads.
- Bicycle / motorbike (€10-40/day) - For short summer trips around the area, renting a bicycle or scooter is possible in Larnaca. It’s inexpensive and convenient for nearby vineyards and village roads, but be cautious on faster roads and in winter weather.
- Walking - Walking is pleasant for short distances within Psevdas itself and neighbouring hamlets - use walking for local errands and short village strolls. For anything beyond a few kilometres you’ll need a taxi or bus.
