Progreso (Corozal District) is reached overland from Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City. Buses and shared shuttles are the common public options; a private transfer or rental car is more flexible for remote beaches and small settlements.

By Air

Philip S. W. Goldson International (BZE): Belize’s main international airport near Belize City. From BZE, travel to Corozal District (where Progreso is located) by bus or shuttle: travel time to Corozal town is roughly 2.5-3 hours by road depending on traffic, and shuttle fares commonly range from BZD 15-35 (approx.). From Corozal town a local taxi or bus will take you to small settlements like Progreso.

Caye Caulker / San Pedro (domestic transfers): If you arrive by domestic flights or boat to the cayes you will still need an overland connection via Belize City to reach the northern Corozal District; this route is indirect and slower than flying into BZE and continuing by road.

By Train & Bus

Train: Belize does not have a public passenger rail network; trains are not an option.

Bus: Long-distance buses (and shared shuttles) depart Belize City’s Northern Terminal toward Corozal and the Mexican border; buses are the standard, economical option for northbound travel.
