About Phnom Svay Reclining Buddha#
On a shady plateau near the summit of Phnom Svay lies a reclining image of the Buddha, eyes closed as he passes into enlightenment. The atmosphere is serene, and the location, along the road towards the waterfalls east of Sen Monorom, makes it an almost mandatory stop on any day trip heading out of town.
The image is tended by the monks of Wat Rahtanharahm, which sits near the base of the hill. If you call in on the way back from your outing, climb to the top for a sunset viewpoint that looks out over most of the town.
