How to Get to Mamburao

By Air

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL): Most flights to Mindoro-area towns arrive via Manila. From MNL you need to get to a south-Luzon ferry/port (Batangas) or a domestic flight to Mindoro-expect the land+sea transfer to take several hours and cost in the PHP hundreds range depending on ferry and bus choices.

San Jose (Mindoro) airport (SJI): San Jose (Mindoro) is the closest commercial airport on Mindoro island and is the main local air gateway for western Mindoro; from there you continue overland to other towns on the island. Taxis or local vans connect the airport to town centres (short rides, typically PHP a few hundred).

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no national rail service that serves Mamburao. Rail is not a travel option for reaching the town.

Bus / Ferry: The usual route is Manila (or Batangas) → roll-on/roll-off ferry or fast ferry to Mindoro (ports such as Abra de Ilog / San Jose area) → local jeepney/van to Mamburao. Intercity bus + ferry combinations vary widely in price and take many hours; expect total land+sea travel from Manila to be a full day (6-10+ hours) depending on connections.

How to Get Around Mamburao #

Mamburao’s central area is compact and easy to explore on foot, especially around the public market and municipal hall. Short hops within town are usually done by tricycle (motorized three-wheelers) or small jeepneys; fares are inexpensive but cash-only. For longer trips - inter-town buses and vans connect Mamburao with other Mindoro towns and ferry terminals - expect basic services and variable schedules. Practical tip: carry cash, ask locals for typical tricycle fares, and plan intercity departures a bit ahead of time.
