How to Get to La Cruz, Costa Rica

La Cruz (Guanacaste) is best reached via Liberia's Daniel Oduber Airport (LIR) for relatively short road transfers; San José is also possible but significantly farther by road. Overland buses and shared/private shuttles are the usual connections to town.

By Air

Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR - Liberia): LIR is the main international gateway for La Cruz, Guanacaste (about 60-90 minutes by road depending on your exact La Cruz). From Liberia you can take a shuttle, bus or taxi; shared shuttles typically cost CRC 6,000-12,000 and take roughly 1-1.5 hours, while a private taxi or transfer takes about 1-1.5 hours and costs more (CRC 35,000-60,000).
