Located in the center of Cambodia, Kampong Chhnang province is landlocked on all sides by other Cambodian provinces, with the Sab River running through it. The main attraction of the province is the capital of the same name which sits upon the banks of beautiful marshland that is lined with traditional wooden houses on stilts.

Kampong Chhnang boasts several interesting natural attractions, with the Phnom Roap Bat Resort and the Phnom San Touch Resort offering incredible views of scenic mountains and holy pagodas. Other places of interest include the nature reserves of Phnom Ta Ind and Phnom Da.

Luring limited tourists, a handful of guesthouse options can be found in the provincial capital while mainly home stay options are available elsewhere. The province is connected to Phnom Penh by railway and highway.
