Hat Hin Khom Travel Guide

Often overlooked, Hat Hin Khom is a lesser beach on Phi Phi Don Island in Thailand. In the past few years, developers have done their best to entice tourists to visit by building numerous resorts and beach facilities.

Hat Hin Khom is just one of the most recent examples of new development on Ko Phi Phi Don. Most visitors prefer basing themselves at Hat Yao or Hat Laem Thong, both of which offer more seclusion and outstanding scenery.

But staying in Hat Hin Khom does have its advantages. The infrastructure is brand new, and the finest hotel rooms are expertly outfitted with up-to-the-minute amenities. On the reverse side, the hotels that predated the recent developers’ rush are in need of a little maintenance.

Getting There & Away

Phi Phi Don is reached by ferry from either Phuket or Krabi (2 to 3 hours) via the pier at Ton Sai Village. Direct seaplane service from the island to Phuket was launched in 2007 and continues to grow in popularity. There are a few international connections from Phuket though most people fly from here to Bangkok (1 hour), where the roster of international flights is much more extensive.
