Ghafurov is best reached via Khujand (Leninabad) in northern Tajikistan. Khujand Airport (LBD) is the nearest airport; local minibuses (marshrutkas) and taxis provide the last-mile connections into Ghafurov.

By Air

Khujand Airport (LBD): Khujand (LBD) is the main airport serving northern Tajikistan. From Khujand Airport you can reach Ghafurov by taxi (typically 20-40 TJS, about 20-40 minutes depending on traffic) or by local shared minibus/marshrutka; marshrutkas to nearby towns commonly cost a few somoni (roughly 2-5 TJS) and take about 30-50 minutes to reach Ghafurov.

Dushanbe Airport (DYU): Dushanbe’s airport is the country’s largest but is far from Ghafurov (350+ km). Overland travel from Dushanbe is possible by long-distance bus or private car; journeys take many hours and are not recommended if you have a local flight option into Khujand.

By Train & Bus

Train: Khujand has a railway station (Khujand). Local and regional train services in northern Tajikistan are limited; if using rail, check current schedules in Khujand. Trains are slower and less frequent than road options.

Bus / Marshrutka: Regular marshrutkas and minibuses run between Khujand and nearby districts including Ghafurov. Expect fares in the low single-digit to single‑digit somoni range (commonly 2-5 TJS) and journey times of roughly 30-50 minutes depending on exact origin and stops.
