October often feels like late summer: warm days and the first hints of increasing humidity as the calendar heads toward the wet season. Short, sharp showers can begin later in the month and operators will start to monitor cyclone forecasts; however, many days remain calm and excellent for beachtime and reef excursions. Bookings pick up again with travelers chasing late-season sun.

October sees humidity start to creep back in and short, warm showers return occasionally as the region moves toward the wet season. Travel remains easy but watch for isolated heavy showers that can cause surface run-off; rivers respond quickly and rural roads get muddy. The island’s gardens are flourishing and fewer crowds make it a tranquil month to explore. Mount Tomanivi, Colo-i-Suva, central plateau
October brings warmer days and increasing humidity; late-afternoon showers can begin to crop up as the wet season approaches. Trails dry out less predictably and some creeks begin to flow more strongly again. If you plan multi-day hikes, keep wet-weather gear handy and check local reports for any inland track closures.
