How to Get to Cospicua
Cospicua is part of the Cottonera (Three Cities) across the Grand Harbour from Valletta; arrivals use Malta International Airport and continue by bus, taxi or car into the harbour towns. The historic core is compact but sits on steep streets and waterfront quays.
Malta International Airport (MLA): Malta’s single international airport at Luqa is the closest airport to Cospicua. From MLA a taxi to Cospicua (one of the Three Cities) typically takes 20-30 minutes and costs around €15-€25 depending on traffic; car hire is available at the airport.
Train: Malta has no national rail network.
Bus: Malta Public Transport runs routes from the airport and Valletta into the Cottonera area that includes Cospicua; single fares are about €2 and the trip from Valletta is typically 10-25 minutes depending on route and traffic. There is also a small passenger ferry service across parts of the Grand Harbour at certain points - check current local schedules for availability.
How to Get Around Cospicua #
Cospicua (Bormla) is part of the Three Cities and is easily explored on foot; the area is compact and has waterfront promenades. Regular buses connect the Three Cities with Valletta and other parts of Malta. Ferries across the Grand Harbour run seasonally and can be a pleasant way to travel to Valletta; parking in the historic core can be tight, so plan accordingly.
