Caribbean Coast (Cartagena, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Rosario Islands)

November sees the rainy season tailing off, with long wet spells early in the month giving way to more frequent dry interludes by month-end; Cartagena streets slowly dry out and sea clarity improves. Birdwatching around coastal mangroves picks up as migratory species move through, and Tayrona’s green season shows lush trails. Expect fewer crowds and moderate prices; still carry rain protection for sudden showers.

Pacific Coast & Chocó (Nuquí, Bahía Solano, Quibdó)

November begins a slow shift toward slightly drier conditions on the Pacific coast, though substantial rain persists and the landscape stays saturated; rivers take weeks to recede. Boat crossings gradually become steadier by month-end, improving access to coastal communities and surf spots. Expect deep jungle humidity, frequent showers and very few other tourists - excellent for photographers wanting solitude.
