Wat Damrei Saa, the White Elephant Pagoda, stands one block behind the Battambang Museum in the southern part of town. A pair of white elephant statues flank the western entrance, while the eastern side holds a number of intriguing, arguably morbid, statues, including a white elephant ridden by the Buddha as he witnesses the world’s suffering.
