About Tomb of Thieu Tri

The Tomb of Thiệu Trị is the imperial mausoleum of Emperor Thiệu Trị of the Nguyễn dynasty, who reigned in Vietnam from 1841 until his death in 1847. The site is one of several royal tomb complexes associated with the Nguyễn emperors and functions as a funerary and ceremonial compound.

The complex contains the emperor’s tomb and associated altars and pavilions used for commemoration and ritual. Construction and finishing works were completed in the mid-19th century following the emperor’s death, and the layout follows the conventions of Nguyễn tomb architecture with a sequence of ceremonial courtyards and worship buildings.

The mausoleum stands on the outskirts of the city of Huế in Thừa Thiên-Huế province and is visited as part of the broader group of imperial sites in the Huế area.
